In the news

Good design stays current with the world. That’s why we’re always tuned in to what’s new. And sometimes we’re out there making news of our own.

May 2010
Graphic Design USA announced 5 by 5 Design as a winner of the 2010 American Web Design Awards. Recognized as award-winning designs were the Prevolv and Katherine Bass websites. Judging was based on the power of each site to attract audiences, communicate information, generate engagement, and market products, services, and ideas through creative design.

April 2010
A book drive organized by 5 by 5 Design in partnership with Volunteers of America of Minnesota resulted in more than 50 books and $150 dollars worth of donations. Collected books and funds were provided to Phoenix High School, an institution that serves at-risk youth in Minneapolis. This volunteer activity to engage young minds through the gift of reading supports the values of 5 by 5 Design to do good in the world through creativity, strategy, quality, and entrepreneurialism.

January 2010
This month’s Minnesota Women in Marketing and Communications’ publication, “Member to Member,” featured 5 by 5 Design co-owner, Diana Lillicrap as the cover-story author. The article, titled “Are women natural communicators?” reports on a research study examining what draws individuals into the field of communications and what makes the industry unique in its ability to show gender balance, or in some instances, a tendency to attract more women than men.
